Intimate family-only wedding at Southampton Registry Office.
I photographed Heidi and Brian's Southampton Registry Office wedding back in April. It was a lovely family affair with only close relatives, and Heidi's brother on Skype from New Zealand!
I met the happy couple for a coffee and chat a couple of weeks before the wedding and loved them immediately. They were both so relaxed about their day and just wanting it to be about them celebrating their commitment with their nearest and dearest around them. It was very easy nattering away to them and I left our meeting very much looking forward to their day.
Heidi was chauffeured to her wedding in the morning by a friend, who was certainly dressed for the occasion! The phone with Heidi's brother on the other end was passed around while Brian waited patiently in the ceremony room.
It was a lovely ceremony and you could really feel the emotion - just look at the way Brian looked at Heidi throughout...
Heidi and Brian had only booked me for a couple of hours to cover their registry office ceremony and some portraits, so after some group shots, I nipped off with the two of them for some couple shots around Old Town Southampton. There are some gorgeous and romantic areas there, with crumbling ruins tucked in amongst the bustling city centre. The newlyweds were superstars - their happiness and love for each other just shone through and I loved wandering round with them finding little spots for portraits, or just for a quick cuddle.
Here are a few of my favourites from their day.
